21 February 2019 Night Bronze Pour

"Bronze after dark.....revisit the Bronze Age"

Australian Bronze invites you to our monthly Night Bronze Pour at our Sculpture Garden & Bronze Arena!

On The 29th of November 7 30 pm for 8 00 pm RSVP Booking call Clive Calder on 0404076683

Join us at the North Head Artists Precinct for this unique event and witness the Australian Bronze team pour molten bronze into hot ceramic moulds. A spectacular event enhanced by light from the furnace fire, excitement and age old craftsmanship!

Gather at The North Head Art Gallery for drinks & snacks at sunset. We will then give a talk on the current exhibition and walk you through the Lost-Wax Casting Process

Make your way out back and the foundry crew will have the furnace growling and the ovens heating the moulds in anticipation. Once the bronze reaches 1250 degrees the furnace lid is raised, the crucible lifted out and the molten bronze is poured

The lost-wax process for casting bronze hasn't changed much since ancient times. There have been many technological advances in material engineering, which allows for more efficient production and better quality, but we still essentially use the same processes as the ones our ancestors, during the Bronze Age.

Next pour date Thursday 21 February 2019 7 30 pm for 8 00 pm

Price $45 per person  - Booking essential
