Save Our Sea Nymphs! A Local Project

Last June a violent storm hit the NSW coast. Huge waves smashed into the Northern Beaches coastline, with Manly and Fairy Bower, at walking distance from our Foundry, in the path of destruction.

Manly’s Iconic Oceanides – ‘Sea Nymphs’ – sculpture was smashed by monster waves and hit by storm debris. By the time it was over, one of the nymphs had been snapped in two.

The original sculpture was made of ceramic. We want to replace it in bronze so that it will remain for centuries on this site.

Funds raised will be used by the Northern Beaches Council to engage the artist, Helen Leete, and well established Bronze Foundry, Australian Bronze at North Head, to recreate the sculpture.
